You Can Never Be Too Smart

It seems like school never ends. Elementary to middle school, middle to high school, high school to college, graduate school, possibly getting a PhD and then endless workshops and courses to keep you informed once you are in your career. After one graduation, you start right over working for the next.
Continuous education is extremely important in excelling in your career. Having a bachelor's degree isn’t enough anymore. If you have a specialized field, becoming licensed and a certified professional can be the determining factor for whether or not you get that next promotion.

I suggest looking into your field and finding out what accreditation(s) will be most beneficial for your advancement. It may be getting an MBA, obtaining your Professional Engineer (PE) license, or becoming Six Sigma certified.

Tip: If you are already employed or are on the job hunt, check with the employer to find out if they offer tuition reimbursement. There's no better way to go back to school or get that certification then to do it on somebody else's dime.

Outside of classroom courses, attending workshops, seminars, and reading magazines like Entrepreneur or Forbes will keep you in the loop with new advancements and innovations. You can never know too much and as the saying goes, "knowledge is power." Be empowered!
